Creating Brochures & Booklets
(Graphic Design Basics)
by Val Adkins

reviewed by Scott C. Davis

Brochures and booklets are the desk top publisher’s stock in trade. Adkins helps us prevent mistakes and gives us pointers that enable us to optimize our copy and layout. She lets us in on special tricks and insights (see Picking the Perfect Paper) as well as useful info on choosing the best kind of printer for the job at hand (Folding, Binding and Printing). The last half of the book considers thirteen different styles of brochures (from One-Sided Accordion Fold to Roll-Fold, Multi-Panel) and finished with outstanding examples of brochures and booklets used for everything from estate planning to genetic research.
