tells how to put your vacation to work for fun and profit. Whether writing fiction or fact, setting is vital. Jane Edwards' approach to incorporating travel writing in her fiction has been part of her publishing success.  Now, she shares how to find the right setting for your fiction; how to use travel to advance your plot; and how to write of places you've never been.  This book is full of examples and innovative ways to use travel experiences, and rounded out with lists of  resources.
Jane Edwards has a fondness for "going places."  She says, "As an author I have been able to enjoy encores of many of our favorite trips by sending the characters I write about off to follow in our footsteps."  She has had 20 novels published (including Dangerous Odyssey, Listen With Your Heart, and The Ghost of Castle Kilgarrom).  In 1995, she switched from fiction to nonfiction, specializing in travel articles; her articles have appeared in a variety of regional and national publications.
Blue Heron Publishing began life in 1984 as Media Weavers. The direction the press has taken flows from its roots in the Pacific Northwest; most of its authors make their homes in Alaska, British Columbia, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington.  In addition, Blue Heron works to bring all the constituents of the broad community of the printed word together around their common interests
