Hunter's first love, however, is Africa where he served as a correspondent for the Christian Science Monitor. Now he is releasing the first volume in his Africa trilogy.

The initial volume of stories will be followed by a novel, The Uttermost Parts of the Earth. The final volume is a memoir titled A Year at the Edge of the Jungle.
